Hi, I'm Sam Shakes. Welcome to this website for my book Then Life Took Control.

Then Life Took Control is part autobiographic, as it is based on three years of my Life, and uses raw data from my journals. I explore Chronic Disease & Wellbeing via my survival of Ulcerative Colitis and use of Alternative Therapies. How I managed Radical Surgery, Mental Health, Alcoholism and Relationships are truthfully exposed, along with an understanding of unintentional attitudes that reveal Racism, Sexism and Discrimination. Utilising evidence and experience, this book is presented without blame or prejudice.
